Registration – Chill plus sessions

Well done for completing your CHILL Course

As you know we are a trusted community organisation providing Cold Water Immersion courses for people with mental health issues and other long-term conditions. 

We would like to invite you to our CHILL plus Course: 

This is a 6 week cold water swimming technique coaching course which will help you develop your swimming technique and confidence whilst still benefiting from being outdoors and part of a group. 

You will have needed to completed a CHILL session with us in the last year and be currently cold water swimming/dipping at the moment.

Why do coaching in cold water? 

The basis of cold water sessions is rooted in well-established and proven research regarding connection with the environment and social bonding.  So we want to give you the opportunity to continue developing your swimming technique in the outdoor environment.  As we come into winter with bigger swell and inclement weather it is more challenging to coach technique in the sea so we have found the next best thing: An open air swimming pool in close proximity to the sea.

Safety

Safety is still at the absolute core of everything we do – we have stringent risk assessments and training for all our coaches. Every session is overseen by a qualified Chill Coach and a qualified beach lifeguard. 

The cost 

£60 for the 6 week course made payable to Chill Therapy CIC. 

There will be up to 8 people in each session 

Areas we will focus on  Front crawl technique including: 

  • Breathing 
  • Rotation 
  • Body positioning 
  • Catch Sighting for Open Water 

Sessions are supportive with a loose structure of activities and swimming drills based on your needs 

What will the sessions look like? 

The session will be 40 mins long and will start pool-side with participants in swim-suits & changing robe attire. Firstly we will discuss the theory we are going to cover in that session, tailor it to your swimming needs, then you will then spend 20-30 mins in the water being supported by our experienced coaches on your technique, practicing drills, followed by feedback.
