Each session will take about 1 hour, with about 30 minutes in the sea.
There will be 5 minutes of gentle exercise and stretching (with dry robes on), before entering the water (swimsuit only).
While in the water, depending on the ability of the participants we may do the following:
Running / walking into the water, around a lifeguard and back (waist only)
Repeating the exercise and possibly overhead height depending on your ability, confidence and conditions.
Learning the technique of body surfing
Swimming (dependent on conditions + ability)
Instruction in open water swimming techniques.
You will be with a beach lifeguard for the duration of the session
We will monitor changes in mental health by asking you to fill in questionnaires at the beginning and the end of the course.
